Blaisdell Memorial Library - Nottingham

Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 14 at 4 p.m. for a fun afternoon
concert with Jackie Davidson and Gary Brandt.

Jackie joined the Randy Sparks 3 trio in 1960 which eventually became The New Christy Minstrels. In 2010 she joined up with Gary to tour with this show.

Gary Brandt is a folklorist, singer and songwriter. He plays the 12-string guitar and tells great stories to go with the songs. The program will include “classic” songs by Chapin, Denver, Lightfoot, Dylan, Guthrie, Seeger, Kingston Trio and more as well as some original songs.

The program will be held at the old Nottingham Town Hall across the street from the library. The program is being sponsored by the Blaisdell Memorial Library.

MAIN FLOOR - THE LIBRARY NOW HAS CYPRESS RESUME

The library is now offering patrons access to Cypress Resume.  Cypress Resume is a resume builder that library patrons can use in the library or access from their home computer.  You can create professional resumes in minutes with its easy to use format.  You can print your resume out and/or save it to the Cypress Resume site for future use.  For more information about Cypress Resume or how to log on, please contact the main desk at 895-2633.

Don’t forget to stop in and pick up your Friends of the Library Tote Bag.  This oversized zippered bag sells for $12.00 and is good for carrying all your reading material, bring it to the Farmer’s Market, grocery store or the mall.  Ask for one at the main desk of the library.

The Friends of the Dudley-Tucker Library would like to thank everyone who donated and purchased books during the 16th Annual Book Sale.  This year’s sale was a great success with a total of $1,224.25 raised.

Mary E. Bartlett Library - Brentwood

Gravestone Girls "Welcome to the Cemetary" - Brentwood

     The Mary E. Bartlett Library in Brentwood welcomes the Gravestone Girls on Oct 25th at 7pm.  Their presentation is “Welcome to the Cemetary” which will cover the topics of cemetary art, history and the symbolism of the castings. Photos from local cemetaries will be shown in a power point presentation.

“The Finest Hours”-  A Sea Rescue Program

     The Mary E. Bartlett Library in Brentwood will host presenter, Michael Tougias on November 8 at 7pm with “The Finest Hours” - the true story behind the U.S. Coast Guard's most daring sea rescue in 1952.  For more information on this gripping martime event, please contact the library at 642-3355 or www.brentwoodlibrary.org.

Saturday October 27th- The 2nd Annual Scarecrow Festival begins at 1:30 with events such as pumpkin decorating, parade of costumes, dancing, fiddler music, food, and much more!

Monday October 29th at 7pm- Book Discussion- “Don’t Let’s Go to the Dogs Tonight” by Alexandra Fuller. Copies available at the Library.

Fremont Public Library - Fremont

Movie Night at the Fremont Library

  The Fremont Public Library together with the Fremont Garden Club are sponsoring Movie Night on Sept. 14th at the Library.  Children are encouraged to attend in their pajamas, arriving at 6:00 p.m. and also to donate a new pair of warm pajamas for children (all ages) as well as a new book about nature or gardening for the Pajama Program.

  Refreshments will be provided by the Fremont Garden Club and President Carolyn Carr will be reading several stories about nature and gardening before the Movie presentation.

Pajama Program sponsored by Fremont Garden Club

The Fremont Garden Club is sponsoring the Pajama Program for helping children in our state stay warm and learn about nature.

Donation boxes are located at the Fremont Public Library and at the Fremont Town Hall.

The Pajama Program is a national non-profit organization that provides pajamas and books to children-in-need: foster kids, children living in shelters & group homes & other disadvantaged children of all ages.
