Glazed Lemon Bread Recipe 

My mother cooks this meal every winter when her lemon tree is mature. A great Christmas present for neighbors and friends.

– ¼ cup butter, softened – ¾ cup white sugar – 2 egg – 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel – 2 cups all-purpose flour – 1 teaspoon salt – 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder – ¾ cup milk – ½ cup chopped walnut – 2 tablespoons white sugar – 2 teaspoons lemon juice

Set oven temperature to 350 F (175 C). Grease a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan very lightly.

Whip butter and 3/4 cup sugar in a large bowl until foamy. Add lemon peel after beating each egg well. In another basin, mix flour, salt, and baking powder.

Mix flour and milk into egg mixture until barely mixed. The nuts should be evenly blended. Pour batter into loaf pan.

A toothpick put into the center of the loaf should come out clean after 50 to 55 minutes of baking in a preheated oven.

In a small bowl, dissolve 2 tablespoons sugar in lemon juice. Glaze loaf after 10 minutes of cooling.
